Hrvatska Fešta 2013 - Yes it’s finally here.

The Australian Croatian Club is please to invite you to the fifth Hrvatska Fešta which this year will take place over two days on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th April 2013.  The feature of the event includes:

Friday 5 April 2013 – Fešta Launch party featuring not only Melbourne legends “Major Minor” supported by local Canberra band “Renegade Peacock” with lead singer Christian Sep.  Doors open at 8pm and tickets are only $10.  Please note the bistro will be open as usual from 6pm.

Saturday 6 April 2013 – (6.30pm) Fešta Zabava featuring not only Major Minor, but also the return of “Emily” who wow’d audiences at the recent Mladen Grdović concert and Australia’s leading kolo group “Vukovar” from Sydney.  Members that attended Hrvatska Festa 2011, will no doubt agree, performances by HFS Vukovar are not to be missed.  Tickets are only $25 per adult and include a meza platter on arrival for each table.  The Bistro will be open between 6pm and 9pm for those members wanting to purchase dinner.  Tickets can be purchased by calling Angela on 0410 548 028 or the Club on 6248 8782 (Wed-Thurs 1-6pm and Fri 1-10pm). 





















Hrvatska Fešta 2012 - Been and gone.

From 9-11 March, the Australian Croatian Club will be celebrating our local community’s achievements with three days of fun aimed at all generations.

Friday 9 March - Launch Party – Melbourne legends, Major Minor, will kick off the party with a live concert.  In a new initiative, there will also be a mechanical bull for people to test their skills against.  Entry is only $10 and tickets are available at the door.

Saturday 10 March – Zabava (starting 6.30pm) – Major Minor will again be on deck to entertain everyone at the Zabava. Additional entertainment will be provided by “Domovina” from Sydney. The people who attended last year will know that the kolo performances were a highlight of the night.  Entry is $50 per person ($15 for kids between 12-18 years) and includes a superb dinner comprising four courses.  For bookings please contact the Club on 6248 8782 (Wed-Sat 1-6pm) or 0401 681 409 (after 6pm).

HNK Hope Cup - To keep people entertained during the Saturday, the Club is pleased to announce that Werrington Croatia, O’Connor Knights and Croatia Deakin will compete for the HNK Hope Cup.  Please note with Major Minor bringing Melbourne weather with them - the HNK Hope Cup has been moved from Giralang to Nicholls 1 - Kelleway Ave, Nicholls (ie synthetic pitches). First game this Saturday 12.30pm.  In a first, there will also be a separate women’s game.

Sunday 11 March Family Day (starting at 12.30pm) – The last day of the Fešta, is a day not to miss. Featuring heaps of free activities for the kids, kolo performances by the younger members of HFS Croatia, pecenje for the grown-ups and a BBQ in the recently established outdoor dining area.

Once again it's that time of year to celebrate the contribution of the Australian Croatian community to the local region with the three day extravaganza that is "Hrvatska Fešta 2011".  Whilst all those people who have attended the 2009 and 2010 Fešta's will testify, this really is a special event not to be missed.  With regular favourites Major Minor and HFS Croatia being joined by new Sydney band Metak and Croatian Folkloric Ensemble "Vukovar", Hrvatska Fešta 2011 looks set to be the biggest Fešta yet.  Key events of the festa include:

Fešta Launch Party - Friday 18 March 2011 (7pm-2am)

This year’s Fešta Launch Party will not only feature Australia's most popular Australian Croatian Band - Major Minor, but will also mark the Canberra debut of new Sydney Band Metak.  First band will start the partying from 8.30pm.  Entry remains unchanged at only $20.  Whilst the party is

targeted at over 18s, all those under 18 can attend if they are in the company of a responsible adult (ie over 25).


As always, for those that wish to start the night early with a great feed, the ever popular Bistro will be open from 6pm.

Fešta Dinner Dance (AKA Zabava) - Saturday 19 March 2011 (7pm-2am)

The Fešta Zabava really has the potential this year to be one of the most talked about Zabave in the Club's modern history.   Not only will there be a superb four course meal, but Major Minor will back up again to entertain guests with their unique sound and HFS Croatia will not doubt wow diners with their kolo performances.  In a special treat CFE Vukovar from Sydney will also perform various kolos that so impressed audiences in Croatia during their very successful 2005 tour.

Tickets are only $50 per person ($15 for those aged 5-12).  Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Club Wed-Sat after 12.30pm on 02 6248 8782.  Just a reminder payment is required to secure your place.

HNK Hope Cup - As part of the Fešta, Croatia Deakin and the O'Connor Knights will face off in the inaugural HNK Hope Cup at 2pm at the ANU Synthetic pitch, in recognition of the first Croatian team to play in Canberra.   The winner will be presented the Cup at the Fešta Zabava.

Family Day - Sunday 20 March 2011 (from 12.30pm)

A feature of previous Fešta ‘s has been the Sunday Family Day (AKA recovery party).  This year’s family day will be no different with traditional Croatian food available for lunch, Croatian products available for purchase, the Croatian Ethnic School pancake stall, further kolo performances by HFS Croatia, the return of the Karlovacko Beer Garden featuring Maks the Mega Fridge and heaps of activities for the kids including jumping castle, face paintingand much more.

Fešta Souviener Booklet
